All you need to know
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT:
During your first session we will discuss in detail what it is you want to change. Once we have a mutual understanding of what is needed to achieve the outcome that you truly want to achieve, together we will formulate an approach that is the right fit for you.
During this first session it is important that we get to know each other. I will then explain hypnosis to you, its benefits and limitations and the various styles we can use.
When you have your first hypnosis, I will begin the induction and lead you into a comfortable and relaxing hypnotic trance. Relaxation at this level is so very efficient that you will feel well rested and restored after even just 20 minutes of trance.
In subsequent sessions the focus will be on discussing any changes and building on the strengths you are experiencing. These sessions will be shorter and will be mainly trance work. You will be actively involved in all sessions and in trance, I may ask you to open your eyes, move your hand or finger or speak to me so that we can both understand how you are progressing.
Hypnotherapy is brief therapy. The aim is to keep our work effective and direct, and create solutions for you that will continue to work into the future independently.

WILL I BE ABLE TO GO INTO TRANCE?
There is no right or wrong way to go into trance. Everyone can go into trance; in fact we all go in and out of trance throughout our day easily and naturally. Have you ever found yourself daydreaming, or forgotten parts of the drive to a common destination, or been unsure of you turned off the iron, only to find you have and you put it away in the right place?
Trance is a very natural thing and there is no way to prepare for it. Your commitment to your goal and your willingness to listen to and follow my direction will help you to reach a deeper, more profound level of relaxation.

MYTHBUSTING
- You cannot be hypnotised against your will. Trance will only occur if you agree to follow into relaxation.
- You can remember and hear all that is being said in trance. Only if you chose to relax at the deeper level, will you find that you just can’t be bothered to actively listen; just as you would find as you doze in out of sleep, you will remember parts, and perhaps will remember other parts only when reminded.
- You cannot be persuaded to do anything against your will
- You will not find that you are compelled to tell truths and secrets that you do not want to share
- There will be no golden light, magic or fireworks, unless you want them… change will occur over time, and will involve some effort from you as well.
